NSBKA Meeting Mead Making Meeting

Tuesday 17th January 7.30 pm, Tilstock Village Hall. All members welcome whether or not you have made mead before.  Evening to include mead tasting and starting mead.  The intention will be to mix several 5 litre bottles of honey, yeast, water and nutrients.  Honey will be provided, but if you wish to use your own honey for a mix, please bring 3lbs of honey (another 1lb may be needed in weeks to come).  No charge to participate, but for a £15 contribution, members will be provided with an initial mead making ‘kit’ including a syphon, airlock, hydrometer and plastic bottle containing 5 litres of mixed honey, yeast etc., to take home to brew.  Depending on the numbers participating, further 5 litre pre-mixed plastic bottles may be available for a contribution of £5.00.  Mead-quality honey will be provided. If you wish to bring your own clean 5l glass demijohn to use, rather than accept a plastic bottle, please just let us know.

So that we have sufficient equipment and honey available, if you wish to take part, please, as soon as possible and BY TUESDAY 3RD JANUARY latest, let us know the answers to the questions below by e-mailing: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  1. Your name & whether you will want to contribute £15 for a mead making kit to take home?
  2. Whether you will take your mix home in the 5l plastic bottle provided or in a clean glass demijohn you will bring?
  3. If you wish honey provided (no extra charge) or will bring your own 3 lbs.
  4. How many additional pre-mixed 5 litre bottles, for £5 contribution you would like (if available)
