Bees Wax

Bees have four pairs of wax-producing glands on the underside of the abdomen. These 8 wax glands secrete liquefied wax, which hardens into thin scales when it becomes exposed to the air. It is the young worker bees that are best at creating wax andthey can create eight of these scales of wax in a 12-hour period. To make one gram of wax it would take around 1,000 of these wax scales (To make 1lb of beeswax (0.45kg) requires about 6lbs (2.72kg) of honey to be consummed)
